Programs  Visual Arts Devotees

As part of the University of Wisconsin's public service mission, the Chazen Museum of Art and its staff function as an information resource to the community about the visual arts and museums. In addition to sharing their expertise and scholarship in specific art historical areas, curators are happy to respond to general inquiries about identification, preservation, and conservation of works of art. Although museum policy prohibits formal authentication, monetary appraisal, or treatment of privately owned property by staff members, the museum regulary receives and makes available lists of art dealers, conservators, and appraisers that are published by their respective professional organizations. Information about educational resources, sources of art reproductions, arts organizations, and the museum profession is also available.

Contact the museum's receptionist for direction to the appropriate staff member.
