Summer 2008 Curatorial Course 

This summer the Chazen Museum will offer one non-credit course for members.

From Dürer's engravings and Rembrandt's etchings to twentieth-century experimental images and today's sophisticated editions, artists have printed from metal plates for more than 500 years and have used a range of techniques grouped under the term intaglio . This course will briefly describe intaglio process and examine prints to identify the various effects artists have achieved. The class will look closely at examples from the Chazen's fine print collection to explore engraving and line etching, mezzotint and aquatint, and the amazing diversity of intaglio printmaking in the twentieth century.

Dates : Six sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, and 24. PLEASE NOTE these dates have changed from those printed in the May–June Chazen calendar of events.
