Contribute to the General Fund
Unrestricted contributions in any amount may be made for general operating support to maintain the current activities of the museum, including exhibitions, educational programs, and special events.
Contribute to the Art Purchase Fund
The aesthetic quality and historical importance of objects in the permanent collection are basic to the museum's educational mission and role as artistic leader. You may wish to designate your gift to the art purchase fund to help us add new works of art to the permanent collection. The Chazen relies on annual earnings from the art purchase fund to acquire museum-quality works of art for the permanent collection. With art market prices steadily rising, the Chazen requires ever-greater endowment income in order to expand permanent collection holdings.
Donate a work of art
Over the years the Chazen Museum's permanent collection of some 17,300 works of art has been formed by generous donors
who have contributed paintings, prints, sculpture and decorative arts to the museum. Major collections
given to the museum include the Vernon Hall Collection of Medals, the Van Vleck Collection of Japanese
Prints, and the Hollaender Collection. If you are interested in contributing a work of art to the museum,
please contact the curatorial department at 608 263-2246.
Include the museum in your estate plans
The Chazen Museum of Art owes its success to the many significant financial gifts and donations of works
of art from donors who have designated the museum as a recipient or partial recipient of their estate.
By including the Chazen in your will, you are investing in the future of the museum and the enjoyment of
art for generations to come. While it is always essential to consult your attorney or tax advisor before
creating a will or trust, UW Foundation representatives are always available to talk with you about your
ideas and bequest plans. Please call 608 263-4545 and ask for the "Planned Giving Office" if you
would like more information or to discuss options for giving, visit their website at
http://uwfoundation.plannedgifts.org/.
Make an in-kind contribution of goods or services

Support the Chazen Museum of Art Donations
While the UW-Madison budget supports the Chazen Museum of Art's administrative expenses, private dollars and government grants fund the museum's programs and exhibitions. The Chazen Museum's success depends on the generosity of our many devoted donors. A financial gift to the Chazen Museum demonstrates your support of this unique cultural organization and helps maintain the museum's reputation as a leader among university art museums.
Contact the Development Office for more information.
All contributions to the museum are listed in the Chazen Museum's Bulletin/Biennial Report. Cumulative gifts over $10,000 are recognized on the museum's donor recognition board and provide a permanent legacy of generosity.
Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of a special friend or relative.
