Public parking is available at the City of Madison 's Lake Street and N. Frances Street ramps. The lower level of University Lot 46 on Lake Street between Johnson Street and University Avenue is available for metered parking. Evening parking for special events and weekend parking is also available under Grainger Hall, with entrance on Brooks Street between University Avenue and Johnson Street, and under the Fluno Center with entrance on N. Frances Street.
Handicapped Parking
Vehicles with a valid handicapped sticker or id may park for free at any of the meters along Murray Street. The museum's elevator is accessed from the north east entry, near the Museum Shop entrance.
Please note that beginning October 1, 2007 and continuing through February 2008, vehicle access to Murray Street will be closed from University Avenue. Murray Street can be accessed by taking a right turn off University Avenue onto Fitch Court and left through the Pres House parking lot.
There is 1 handicapped parking stall on the east side of the small lot in front of the museum. Access is from University Avenue.
There are 2 handicapped parking stalls at the Mosse Humanities building. Access is from Park Street.
City of Madison buses heading east stop at the corner of Johnson and Park Streets, one block to the south of the museum. Busses heading west stop at the corner of University Avenue and Murray Street, just in front of the museum. The UW–Madison campus bus stops on Park Street just north of University Avenue.
