The Print Study Room provides a place where students, scholars and other interested members of the public can view some of the more than 9000 works of art on paper in the Chazen's collection, including drawings, watercolor, and photographs as well as prints.
Although selections of these works are regularly displayed in the Mayer Gallery, that space can only accommodate between thirty and fifty such works at one time. Furthermore, works on paper are fragile: papers, inks, and other materials used to make marks on paper change and deteriorate with exposure to light, and therefore can only be displayed for restricted periods.
The Print Study Room is open by appointment between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments must be made at least one week in advance and depend on the availability of the curator. To make an appointment or request more information, contact the Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs.
