The works on art in Gallery III chronologically follow those in Gallery II and date between 1600 and 1800. Christ Giving the Keys of the Kingdom to St. Peter painted by Bernardo Strozzi of ca. 1635 is a masterpiece. Other Italian works of special merit include the Adoration of the Magi by Francesco Solimena, the bronze copies by Massimilliano Soldani of Michelangelo's Morning and Evening figures from the church of San Lorenzo in Florence, and the Sleeping Country Girl by Giuseppe Angeli.
Painting in northern Europe is exemplified by the Party of Drinkers by Cornelis Bega, Portrait of Gentleman by Nicolaes Eliasz, the Still Life with Nautilus, Cup and Fruit by Barend van der Meer, and the very rare Village of Olinda, Brazil by Frans Post. Sunrise (1759) by Claude-Joseph Vernet, two capricci of classical ruins by Hubert Robert, and a landscape by Gaspard Dughet represent French painting. There are also two 17th-century Spanish paintings: the Adoration of the Shepherds by Francisco Camilo and St. Francis Receiving the Stigmata by Mateo Cerezo.
