Virtual Tour Fourth Floor: Brittingham Gallery IX
The 4th floor gallery is officially designated as Brittingham Gallery IX. Painting of the later part of the century is well represented through works of such outstanding artists as Adolph Gottlieb, Hans Hofmann, Jack Tworkov, Helen Frankenthaler, Mark Rothko, Richard Artschwager, Arnulf Rainer, Sandro Chia, Al Held, and Gronk. Ed Pascke, Karl Wirsum, Ray Yoshida, and Christina Ramberg exemplify the work of the Chicago Imagists, while paintings by David Becker and T. L. Solien represent the work of the Department of Art at UW-Madison.
Sculpture of the mid and later 20th century includes pieces by Joán Miró, Leonard Baskin, David Smith, Barbara Hepworth, Louise Nevelson, and John DeAndrea.
