What I do at the Chazen: As chief engagement officer, I oversee academic and public engagement, visitor services, and communications at the museum. In collaboration with colleagues across the Chazen’s engagement section, I strive to expand points of access into the museum, advance interdisciplinary partnerships, and tailor the museum experience to the needs of the Chazen’s many audiences.

Insider tips for visitor: Admission is free and the Chazen is open every day! You can stop by to see your favorite artwork on the way to something else or stay for hours.

My hometown: Seattle, Washington

On Saturdays you’ll find me: at the farmer’s market

My hobby/pastime: cooking, traveling, and taking long walks

I always enjoy partnering with new campus and community partners. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to brainstorm how to engage your class, organization, project, etc., with the Chazen!

What I do at the Chazen: Budgeting, operations, security oversight, human resources, facilities management and planning. I’ve been told “it’s the work no one else wants to do,” but I enjoy it.

When I started: July 2015

Insider tip for visitors: The museum is free! Visit on a weekday during the summer. It’s quiet and you can take your time wandering through the galleries.

My hometown: I’ve lived in different places, but consider Oshkosh, Wisconsin, my hometown.

On Saturdays you’ll find me: Hiking with my dog, seeing family and friends, working around the house, reading a book.

My college major: Anthropology/East Asian Studies and Art History with an East Asian focus.

My creative outlet: Garden design, Chinese brush painting, saving old furniture.

Most unusual job: So many choices. Military intelligence analyst, knock-off designer-perfume salesperson, archaeologist.

When I started: November 2017
What I do at the Chazen: As chief of staff, I serve as the senior advisor to the director and oversee all requests that come through the director’s office. I also help manage cross-departmental projects, institutional evaluation and grant writing. I love my job because every day is different, and I find helping “connect the dots” across the organization to be incredibly rewarding.
Insider tips for visitors: Ask one of the visitor services associates to tell you about their favorite work on view! They spend a lot of time in the galleries and always have the best anecdotes about their favorites.
My hometown: Toledo, Ohio
On Saturdays you’ll find me: DIYing something in our 120-year-old house.
My hobby/pastime: Petting my dogs, petting other people’s dogs, and roasting my husband.
