Wine Cup (Band Cup) with Two Fighting Hoplites and Sphinxes

Wine Cup (Band Cup) with Two Fighting Hoplites and Sphinxes

The Painter of the Boston Polyphemus (attributed to)

On the exterior of both sides, two warriors fight, one with Boeotian shield and the other with a round shield. The tiny inscriptions start to salute the dancer but degenerate into nonsense. Sphinxes at the handles turn their heads back and raise a paw to the hoplite warriors.
