Before 1851, Baron Anne Willem Carel Nagel van Ampsen (The Hague, Netherlands). 15 November 1946, sold in anonymous sale at Christie’s auction house (London) [lot 100, as "Justice and Flora"] to "Gibb" or "Kitto"[1]. By 1958, acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Marc B. Rojtman (Milwaukee, WI); November 1958, gifted to the University of Wisconsin–Madison; 1967, transferred to Elvehjem Art Center [now called Chazen Museum of Art] [1] per annotated copies of the auction catalogue
