Zu Chongzhi Working on the Ratio

Between 1975 and 1990, probably purchased from Taiwan or China* by Dr. Simon and Rosemary Chen (Madison, WI); December 2005, gifted by Dr. Simon and his wife Rosemary Chen to the Elvehjem Museum of Art [now called Chazen Museum of Art]. *Though the object file does not contain a purchase record, the Chen donor file states that a bulk of their collection was acquired in Taiwan and China between the years 1975 and 1990.
