Prominently inscribed with the name of the owner “PETER CHAPMAM (sic for Chapman) PARROTT”and decorated with the figures of a man and a woman, hands joined around a tree, before an altar of love. The earliest version of this Valentine motif first appeared on English Worcester porcelain around 1760. The combination of the owner’s name and the Valentine motif result in a pseudo-armorial device.
