The central image of the Cherry Pickers is based on an engraving by Nicolas Ponce (1746–1831) after a painting by Pierre-Antoine Baudouin (1723–1769). The image was extremely popular on both Chinese export and European porcelain.

A white plate is decorated with a vibrantly painted central scene. The circular scene shows three light-skinned figures in European colonial-style clothing picking large pink cherries from a tree with vivid green foliage. On the right, a figure wearing a pink jacket and orange breeches perches on a ladder, which leans against the tree, and extends an arm to offer cherries to a figure standing on the ground below. This figure lifts the skirt of their purple dress to gather the fruit. The third figure’s pink skirt pools around them as they sit on the ground beside a basket. A black and white dog sits nearby. The rim of the plate is embellished with a thin red and gold braid.
