Between November 1971 and July 1972, this sculpture was sold by Peter Marks Works of Art (New York, NY) to James and Helen K. Stein (New York, NY). In July 1972, the Steins deposited the sculpture on long-term loan at the Elvehjem Art Center [now called Chazen Museum of Art] and in June 1973, gifted it to the Elvehjem Art Center [now called Chazen Museum of Art].
