Gnathian pottery, which takes it name from the ancient town of Gnathia in Apulia, was made between about 370 and 270 B.C. probably in Taranto. The decoration of Gnathia ware consists of designs in white, yellow, and red paint over a black glaze. This decoration shows a bird on the shoulder and another beneath it on the main body painted in white and yellow.
