Donald Rockview Farm

Donald Rockview Farm

John Steuart Curry

The Springdale, Wisconsin, landmark known as Donald Rock anchors this autumn farm scene. The Midwest landscape’s colors and characteristics similarly inspired the designers of the Prairie School earlier in the century. Fittingly, this painting hung for more than sixty years above the living room fireplace of a 1915 Madison bungalow designed in keeping with the Prairie School aesthetic.
