S. A. Zakharov

This box’s imagery is based on the same story as that of N. Veselov’s box. This is also a Kholui box, but is different from Veselov’s not only in shape and size (five images instead of one), but also in the selection of scenes and the style of execution. It is a more refined piece of art, with a well-defined drawing, more generous use of gold ornament, richer and more nuanced color pallet, and an overall higher level of craftsmanship.
