Still Life

Jacques Lipchitz

For Jacques Lipchitz, working in relief—building the design from a flat surface—freed him to develop new forms. Here, Lipchitz deconstructed a collection of classic still life objects, including musical instruments, from various perspectives—a technique of reimagining the visual world pioneered by his Cubist colleagues.
