Kanzan workshop

This bowl’s interior scene depicts a procession carrying a young noblewoman in a palanquin. The apparently endless parade receding into the horizon and the bands of gold-dotted clouds give the suggestion of depth. This relatively sparse decoration produces a striking contrast with the rich millefleur decoration on the exterior.
