This large-scale painting features a figure on horseback gazing at a sea reflecting a colorful sky. On the right side of the canvas, the figure, facing left in profile, looks down at the water below. The figure wears a long-sleeved tunic and pants in bright yellows, greens, and reds. Splashes of light illuminate the figure''s face and short, brown, curly hair. The figure sits upon a horse painted in a variety of brown tones. The water of the sea fills most of the canvas and is represented by many rows of short, undulating brushstrokes in vibrant, contrasting colors, including red, blue, orange, yellow, dark purple, pink, and white. The colors of the sea mirror the warm, golden sky filled with streaks of yellow, orange, pink, and hints of blue.
