Cheryl Warrick

Cheryl Warrick is an African American abstract painter, printmaker, and pattern designer based in Boston. Her colorful, multi-media works invite viewers to discover visual relationships in shapes, textures, landscapes, symbols, and patterns, and, in the artist’s words, “find a meaning that uplifts the spirit and engages the mind.” To create “Peace Make Plenty,” Warrick incorporated multiple etching techniques and drypoint to produce the ethereal, stream-of-conscious imagery that characterizes her work in the early 2000s. As in this print, Warrick also favored references to landscape and the long, narrow format during this period.
