Samuel Halpert

Modern artist Samuel Halpert is known for still life subjects, landscapes, and urban cityscapes, typically of New York and Paris. “Nude–Seated” depicts a woman sitting with her proper right leg over the arm of her chair. This image demonstrates Halpert’s investigation of formal relationships between subjects; in this instance, the woman’s fluid and slightly reclined posture is juxtaposed with the rigid arms, legs, and feet of the chair.
