Erika Lagerbielke

Erika Lagerbielke is a glass artist and professor in glass design at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden. There, her fields of research are “the artefacts of the meal” and sustainable glass. She studies the importance of design in experiencing a meal, particularly the sensory experience of wine. She has applied her research principals at Orrefors, a Swedish fine crystal and glassware company, since 1982. There, she creates vessels that are expressions of her artistry as well as devices to enhance the experience of the meal. Founded in 1898, Orrefors is a commercial corporation that creates quality crystal and glass pieces for everyday use. They also partner with artists to develop new pieces, designs, and techniques.
