1953, Librarie La Hune (Paris, France); [1], sold to Alexander and Henrietta W. Hollaender (Oak Ridge, TN and Washington, DC)[2]; 1981, gifted to the Elvehjem Museum of Art [now called Chazen Museum of Art] [1] According to the object file, this print was part of a series created by the artist for a 1953 exhibit at Librarie La Hune, but the date of transfer from Librarie La Hune to the Hollaenders is unknown.A 1957 sales receipt shows that the Hollaenders purchased several works, including another Dubuffet print from the same 1953 exhibit, from Librarie La Hune, but this work is not listed in the details of that transaction.
