Act XI, the retreat. The ronin, on their way to Sengakuji Temple, are prevented from coming into the territory of a daimyo who was reluctant to give access to what are, legally speaking, murderers. A mounted functionary blocks the Ryogoku Bridge to the ronin, forcing them to go by another route.
