Joseph Blackburn (attributed to)

Joseph Blackburn was a successful portrait painter of the leading families in Bermuda, and later in Boston. His palette in Lady in Gray is restrained and elegant, the composition informal, but with much attention paid to the gleam of the satin and curvilinear lines.
