Sold by the artist, Martyl (Martyl Schweig Langsdorf), in Oak Ridge (probably Oak Ridge, TN)* to Alexander and Henrietta W. Hollaender (Oak Ridge, TN and Washington, DC); 1991, bequeathed to Elvehjem Museum of Art [now called Chazen Museum of Art] *The only transaction record in the object file is a note in the curatorial sheet stating the source as, “From artist...in Oak Ridge.” The fact that the Hollaenders lived in Oak Ridge, TN, and that the artist has been based in Chicago, IL for most of her career (with no other documented ties to Oak Ridge or Tennessee), suggest the sale may have taken place during a visit from the artist to the Hollaenders town of residence, but the lack of information leaves the context of the sale unclear.
