Transferred from Rosengart (Lucerne, Switzerland ) to Waddington Gallery (London, United Kingdom); ca. 1973,* sold to Alexander and Henrietta W. Hollaender (Oak Ridge, TN); 1987, deposited on long-term loan to Elvehjem Museum of Art [now called Chazen Museum of Art]; 1992, bequeathed to Elvehjem Museum of Art [ now called Chazen Museum of Art]. * The object file does not contain a record of the transaction date, but does contain correspondence verifying that Waddington Gallery obtained a certificate of authenticity for this work in 1973, and this work’s appearance in a 1974 exhibition of works from the Hollaenders’ collection tells us it was in their possession by that year.
