Student Night at the Chazen
You're invited to a FREE student-only event at the Chazen Museum of Art celebrating You Belong Here: Place, People, and Purpose and The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick! Explore the works on view in both exhibitions and win prizes by taking a journey through the galleries. Hands-on art-making activities in the lobby will offer the chance to build collages with local artist Natalie Ergas and woodblock print your own tote bag to take home. Light snacks and drinks provided.

Join us for an evening of art-making inspired by the midcentury American artist and designer Wharton Esherick. Artist and University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty member, John Hitchcock, will lead participants in a hands-on opportunity to create your own woodblock print on paper and tote bag provided by the Chazen. Interested in also printing on a favorite t-shirt or hoodie? Bring it with you!

Sunday Tour: The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick
Join us for a guided tour of The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick! Meet at the front desk for a closer look at Esherick’s innovative work, from woodcut illustrations to sculptural furniture. Tours last up to 60 minutes and encourage conversation, exploration, and close engagement with Esherick's interdisciplinary artistry.

‘The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick’ Exhibition Celebration
Join us for an evening celebrating the midcentury American artist and designer Wharton Esherick.
This event will include a special hand carving demonstration by Katie Hudnall, the Head of UW-Madison’s Woodworking and Furniture Program, who will showcase techniques inspired by Esherick’s innovative approach to woodworking. Guests will enjoy an array of hosted appetizers, a cash bar, and the chance to connect with fellow art enthusiasts.
