Family Day at the Chazen: Assemblage
Meet us in the Chazen’s Mead Witter lobby for a hands-on event designed for visitors of all ages! Create your own piece of assemblage artwork as you transform ordinary objects and supplies into unique compositions. You can also take a journey through the museum to view assemblages from artists such as Louise Nevelson, Joseph Cornell, and more!
Free and open to all. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.

Make Music Madison at the Chazen
Music has always been part of the Chazen Museum of Art, from string quartets and ukelele ensembles to taiko drumming and jazz combos. On Saturday, you can listen to music and make it too.
The Chazen is a new venue for Make Music Madison, a daylong event on June 21 that’s part of Make Music Day in more than a thousand cities around the world. Family Day: Crafting Beats
Meet us for a fun-filled Family Day at the Chazen as we celebrate music and creativity! Craft your own musical instruments, all while exploring the joy of making music. This hands-on event is part of Make Music Madison. Bring your family and friends and create your very own instruments to play and enjoy!

Family Day: Ink-credible Printmaking
Learn about printmaking with a hands-on workshop inspired by the artist Wharton Esherick. Explore a variety of materials and techniques to create and take home your own prints. This event is for visitors of all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to wear clothes you're comfortable getting messy in, and get ready to make your own print!

Art Making and Frosty Fun at the Winter Carnival
Stop by the Chazen’s table during Frosty Fun, 1–4 p.m. in Alumni Park (650 N. Lake Street), an all-ages event that is part of the Wisconsin Union’s Winter Carnival. Museum staff will guide you in creating your own card, inspired by the Chazen’s collection, and making colorful tissue paper sun catchers. It's UW Family Weekend! Families are welcome to drop by the Chazen Museum of Art between 1:00 and 3:00 pm to create a multimedia craft inspired by glass artwork in our collection.
