Join us for an evening of art-making inspired by the midcentury American artist and designer Wharton Esherick. Artist and University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty member, John Hitchcock, will lead participants in a hands-on opportunity to create your own woodblock print on paper and tote bag provided by the Chazen. Interested in also printing on a favorite t-shirt or hoodie? Bring it with you!
Participants are encouraged to bring an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting ink on.
Learn how artist Wharton Esherick made his woodblock prints and make one of your own. Choose from workshops on March 13, 5 p.m. or April 17, 5 p.m. with UW professor and artist John Hitchcock. Bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky.
