ExhibitionJapanese Masterworks: Woodblock prints from the Chazen Museum of Art Collection

May 6–Aug 14, 2016

This survey of Japanese printmaking includes more than a hundred of the most famous works in the museum’s collection, including early prints that are so light-sensitive that they are not placed on view more than once in a decade. Prints from the last half of the eighteenth century, the nineteenth and twentieth centuries will show the mastery of the printmakers and their transformation of the medium in response to changing times.
